Trash, Trash Everywhere!

Alright people let's keep it real. I recycle and so do most of the people closest to me but there are still people in the world, as well as my immediate circle of friends and family, who don't. This lack of respect and responsibility troubles me and is creating a mountain of trash that could have been repurposed, reused or recycled. We have more education and information available to us than any other generation yet some continue to live carelessly.

What's going on? The average person throws away 4.1lbs of trash each day. Think about it.... that's roughly my entire body weight in trash every 30 days. That's a lot of plastic, paper, aluminum and food waste every month in landfills, in oceans or shipped to corners of our world. You can reduce your waste contributions by more than 1/3 simply by recycling, reusing and reducing your consumption. This topic seems to be a squeaking wheel but we need to work on the basics before progressing too far down the sustainability road.

Humans live in a terrible paradox. We love nature, we are totally dependent on nature yet we destroy nature. Be a responsible human and take the time to care about your actions, your planet and your great grandchildren's futures. We have a sense of false choice to recycle or not to recyle but the reality is there is only one choice.
