Sharing isn’t always a good thing

Our office space in on the smaller side of cozy which is great for quick communication but a negative once cold season hits. We have what seems like an endless supply of quick fix medicinal remedies for running noses, sore throats or dry coughs all of which include ingredients no one can pronounce. This year a few of us have taken the challenge to reduce our reliance on OTC medicines and first try natural remedies.
Our preemptive attempts to keep cold bugs at bay include first reaching for vitamin rich fruits and vegetables such as oranges for vitamin C, breakfast cereal fortified with Zinc and legumes for B6. If our efforts to remain healthy are foiled several cups of hot mint or green tea soothe aching throats and weary bodies. If all fails and we’ve still fallen victim to the common cold a much needed day at home to recover is the best remedy for everyone in the office.
We’re hopeful that by curbing our reliance on OTC medicinal we’ll reinvigorate our bodies’ nature defenses and improve our inherent tolerance to cold bugs. When you’re in a cozy sized office it’s a benefit to be able to share information quickly but sharing isn’t always a good thing especially when it comes to colds.
